Vape is added to the Oxford English Dictionary Today

In August 2012 the word e-cigarette was added to the dictionary and today, amongst other words now included is the word 'Vape'.

It's been included because the Oxford Corpus reveals an approximate tenfold increase in usage of the terms vape and e-cig in the last two years!

Other new word and phrase entries you should know, particularly if you want to win at Scrabble are:

'binge-watch'  - back to back watching of all episodes and full seasons of your favourite dramas and soaps. All 8 seasons of 24 in just one weekend!

'hate-watch' - watching a programme for the sake of enjoyment of criticising or mocking it probably amongst your mates down the pub!

'neck beard' - facial hair that is grown down the neck.

'side boob' - this is an affliction that happens when you wear clothing that doesn't cover your bulgy bits and therefore your side boob is on show!

'Yolo' - you only live once

'humblebrag' - telling stuff on social media like Facebook or Twitter

'listicle' - an article on the internet presented in the form of a numbered or bullet pointed list - popular on Buzzfeed!

'adorbs' - an abbreviation of the word adorable.

'time-poor' - not enough time to do stuff.

'Paleo diet' - said to be the world’s healthiest and to which we and our human ancestors are genetically adapted. This essentially means that when you are on this diet you eat like we used to at the origins of man. Yes folks, if the caveman didn't hunt or gather it, it wasn't included in his diet, and so its not included in yours. Harsh!
