Dionne's Journey Continues... Part 6 The 510T & The CE2 starter kits.

Hello,

How are you?

Shall we sit in our usual spot?

We were talking before about cigarette sized devices and I wondered if you had tried one of those ‘cigalike’ devices or have you been holding out to find out more about other types and models of Electronic Cigarettes?

I introduced you to the iPack which is Exhale’s most cigalike type of device with all its additional and distinctive features. I wanted to move along and tell you about the other kinds of device available.

Staying for now with the small 510 type batteries Exhale offers the 510T and CE2 starter kit we can then move on and look in detail at the lager and more powerful kits using ‘Ego’ type batteries such as the Amego, Kyngo, CE5, iGo and then the even more powerful kits with the ‘box mod’ style of batteries that pack in a whole host of other more advanced features such as the iTaste MVP V.2 and the ePower V2.

None of the kits from here on will have the wadding material holding liquid, all have tanks in some shape or form which hold a much higher volume of liquid.

Here come some of those new terms and words again!

  • Ego style batteries - these begin at 350mAh and go up to 1100mAh. The higher the mAh number the more power can be stored.
  • ‘Ego” refers to the Ego screw thread very commonly used in atomisation devices, though most of the larger batteries are ‘Dual Threaded’ and will accommodate both Ego and 510 screw threaded atomisation devices.
  • Box Mod - refers to the square, box shape of the batteries rather than the more usual round cylindrical batteries. These also are ‘Dual Threaded’

Both of these kits utilise the 280mAh 510 battery which can be either manual (press the button to activate to power to vape) or automatic where the action of the inhale activates the power.

I will begin with the 510T Starter Kit

Around the time that people began to want more from their vape experience than the cigalike devices the 3 part tank systems came into being. Of these there are models that are more cigarette sized like the 510T Starter Kit and there are also larger models taking advantage

of the greater power of the Ego battery like Exhale’s Amego .

The 510T Starter Kitis a 3 part ‘Tank” system whereby you have the 3 parts; a battery, a separate atomiser and a refillable tank which doubles duty as the mouthpiece.

All parts are easily and cheaply replaced as they wear out or (in the case of the atomiser) become carbonised and/or simply stop because the coil has burned through. The tank is see-through so that it is easy to see the amount of fluid inside.

The kit, available in Black, White or Stainless with automatic or manual batteries and consists of:

  • 2 x 510 280mAh (automatic or manual) batteries
  • 2 x 510T atomisers
  • 5 x empty tanks
  • 1 x 510 charger fitted with a USB connection
  • 1 x Carry Case
It is important when using a 3 part system to use & maintain it correctly. Exhale offers great step by step advice about this.

The filled tanks are pushed into the atomiser and are pierced by the hollow needle inside. This hollow needle feeds the e-liquid to the coil as you vape. Each time the tank is removed, refilled and replaced into the atomiser the needle re-pierces the tank. As this happens and the silicone becomes worn the hole does not seal so well as they first did and leaking can occur. Tanks are easy and inexpensive to replace and I would recommend that you do so regularly to avoid the problem of leakage. Another tip is to store them mouthpiece downwards allowing gravity to work in your favour and help keep the liquid in the tank.

The atomiser can become flooded. This can lead to e-liquid pooling inside and then being suc
ked up as if through a straw. This can be avoided by following the care and maintenance procedures advised and by not holding the device in the mouth. Often when people do this they inhale without battery power. This draws liquid onto the coil but with no power it is not atomised and therefore creates a pool of liquid which will leak and/or be sucked up as described. E-liquid in the mouth is very unpleasant.

The CE2 Starter Kit

After the introduction of the 3 part systems and in order to combat the issues of leaking designers set about trying to overcome this. This lead to the development of atomiser and tanks being combined into one unit. These are the Clearomiser and Cartomisers we spoke of.

All of the newest technologies and developments are made with these devices in mind.

All come with either the Ego of 510 thread fittings. However, few cater for the preference of individuals who prefer the slim 510 batteries. Exhale offer both the CE2 and CE3 clearomiser that retain this slim profile and, it was their desire to cater for those wanting to use the slim batteries AND who wanted to utilise the newer developments of clearomiser in this size and style that led them to introduce their CE2 starter kit.

This kit then features the slim 510 batteries but does away with the separate atomiser and tank replacing it instead with the CE2 clearomiser.

The CE2 (and CE3) clearomiser need to be filled using a syringe but this is quite easy to do. Exhale provide video guide on how to fill both the CE2 and CE3 clearomiser on their website. Watch and follow them closely!

The clearomiser has a plastic tank section which is see-through allowing easy viewing of the liquid in the tank.
The kit contains:2 x black (automatic) 510 280mAh batteries
  • 5 x CE2 clearomisers
  • 1 x 510 charger fitted with USB connection
  • 1 x black carry case
  • 1 x filling syringe
  • 1 x rubber mouthpiece
The clearomiser provides a wonderful vaping experience without the worry or hassle and inconvenience of leaks. They are designed to be refillable many times over and then at the end of their life disposed of and replaced. Replacement packs of 5 clearomisers are well priced and you can continue with the CE2 or if you wanted to, give the CE3 a try!

The iPack, 510T and CE2 kits provide a user with a smaller more cigarette sized device and are perfect choices for someone who is just starting out in the world of vaping.

They all provide a good vaping experience and the 280mAh battery will last pretty much all day. Each kit has easily replaceable parts so can be cheaply maintained to ensure that vaping is always clean and crisp.

Many, many people, myself included begin vaping with one of these kinds of kit. Some stick with these very successfully whilst others might seek a more powerful experience and look towards a more powerful kit with batteries that need charging less often, or a larger capacity tank.

If you are just starting out and don’t mind having a larger battery or, like myself, have lost that conspicuous feeling and want to explore what else is around there are some wonderful devices to choose from that go further and can provide a bigger and better vaping experience…. I think next time we’re together we could begin to explore these, what do you think?

You know, for some people vaping becomes something of a hobby……I don't know why this is but perhaps it is driven by the sudden and very liberating feeling of being released from the weight of having been a smoker…. these passionate vapers want to try everything that is on offer!

There are in fact a great many forums where vapers can exchange information, obtain advice and support. It is worthwhile checking these out whilst remaining mindful of your own needs and preferences and catering to them in order to ensure success and in maintaining a successful transition.

So next time we meet we’ll look at these more powerful kits in more detail. Yes, you can always bring a friend or two along, the more the merrier!

Would you like to review either the 510T or CE2 starter kit? Exhale are offering 3 of each of these devices to readers of my blog to trial. If you are interested in taking part and having your review published on these pages please contact Exhale here: support@exhalecigarette.co.uk.

Please make the subject line of your email either ‘510T blog’ or ‘CE2 blog’. Don't forget to include your name, address and telephone number.
