Chasing Flavour

Chasing Flavour

Big, beautiful, billowing clouds of vapour flow around your head, it pours out from your mouth and your nose giving you the look of some kind of modern-day sorcerer or a shape-shifting dragon.

The people around you ooh and aaahh at the magnificence of your cloud-chasing efforts.

One question:  How does your vape taste?

Cloud-chasing may look cool, but for the true connoisseur, taste is where it's at.

Of course we cater for those who like to produce those billowing clouds and enjoy it as much as the next person, but we also cater to those who like us are seeking to enjoy a truly amazing flavour. The fact is we spend hours and hours sampling and tasting liquids order to find for you the perfect flavours to vape with and which will fit with the many different moods and preferences or our customers. We look for blends that will provide you with a great vape even if you're off nicotine altogether and are vaping at 0mg.

When it comes to flavourology - yep - you got it - it's all about THE TASTE.

In the interest of helping you to get the absolute best from your e-cig and to keep your flavours where they should be we have for you three great tips which we think will help you with your own flavour-chase.

1. Temperature Control

Batteries! How they have changes! First we had VV, then we had VW, and now we have TC. While temperature control e-cigs have many advantages with regard to looking after our coils and wicks and protecting them from becoming burnt and carbonised to our minds their biggest boon is the control it gives us over our taste experience.

Different ingredients within your liquid vaporise at different temperatures. By adjusting the temperature of the coil we can enhance and intensify certain elements of our e-juice whilst at the same time we can subdue others. This control allows us to get a totally customised flavour, one that is absolutely perfect and 'just right' for our own individual taste.

2. Quality Coils and Wicks

This should be a no-brainer, but the fact is that many people will try to save a little on rebuilds by shopping 'price'. To 'penny-pinch' in this area is a tragedy!

If you want pure, clean taste; it starts with using the purest, cleanest cotton you can find and it ends with a clean, high quality coil.

And it pays to maintain and to change them regularly - After all, you can't get a clean taste from a dirty wick or a carbonised, clogged up poorly performing coil.

3. Control Your Airflow - Let's Hit Those Dials!

Less air flowing through means you will produce a denser vapour and therefore you will get a much richer taste. You can control this by using a narrower bore tip (mouthpiece) or even better why not buy an electronic cigarette/atomiser with adjustable airflow which will allow you to fine-tune the taste and balance the throat hit exactly to your own taste. Some tanks have two airflow control dials. One at the base and one up top just below the mouthpiece/drip-tip. Here's how each affects your vape. More air flow entering at the base below the coil, provides more oxygen. This fuels the heat that produced by the coil and makes your liquid vapourise into a much denser cloud and richer taste, whilst more air coming in the drip tip will cool the whole vape down - so if you prefer things cool, open this part up to the max.

Our advice:

  • Experiment with each flavour you vape and with your equipment - particularly if you have a VV/VW or TC Mod and/or your tank which has airflow control options.
  • Make small increments and adjustments up and down in temperature open or closed with the airflow - experience the difference each adjustment makes to the experience and taste you get with your liquid.
  • Buy top quality products and keep your kit clean
  • Don't get stuck in your ways -  keep in mind that same settings you choose for vaping with one flavour or type of eliquid may not be perfect for another!
