6 Top Tips for Beginner Vapers

When you first start toying with the idea of becoming a vaper, it feel a little intimidating.

Electronic cigarettes come in such a wide variety and it's hard to know where to start. In truth, it can feel so daunting as to feel a little like you are entering another very alien world.

Sure, you can attempt to get help from existing vapers, but unless they are used to dealing with the uninitiated, they are used to living in this alien world and as likely to confuse you as they are to help.

Becoming a vaper is more of a personal journey than many people realise. But it really is one well-worth taking. The purpose of this article is to help you get started on the right foot and therefore to ease your way onto a clearer path.

1. Find a supplier you can trust and who offers support.

Since you're here, let's use Exhale Cigarettes as an example. They offer support through their extensive Help & Guides area which includes a comprehensive User Manual with loads of advice for beginners, or they are also available via online message, as well as by email and phone. As Vapers themselves, they have personal as well as in depth product knowledge and that kind of help can make a huge difference in your journey into becoming a vaper. Their knowledge and experience will undoubtedly save you a tonne of cash too!

2. Don't get too hung up on looks.

From the cigarette looking 'cigalikes' to factory built mods (I know, oxymoron), there is a dizzying array of electronic cigarettes on the market. Yes, you do need to feel confident and avoid that fear of looking conspicuous with this unfamiliar device in your hands, but don't overly worry about the looks; but do find what works best for you.

The majority of people, when starting out, find a tank type system is best for them. The cigalikes which people choose due to their high street availability, and most often because they think they will feel less conspicuous (aiming for like for like looks-wise) find that these devices just don't have the bite they are looking for and this quickly leads to disappointment, and just as quickly failure to,transition or, the need to buy all over again.

Most people who buy cigalikes for the cigarette-like size are quickly disappointed and soon get over their fear of feeling/looking out of place and just as quickly want something with more power, a more sensible capacity and a better Vape.

On the other hand don't start out with the fancier mods that can be confusing to use when you're a beginner.

It pains me to say it, but this is one time when being "middle of the road" is your best option.

Take the time to talk over the options with your supplier (and with fellow vapers) before jumping in on an ecig just because it has a certain look.

3. Don't be a copy-cat

Another common 'mistake' is to buy a specific model based on one your friend, co worker, family member, or the bloke down the pub has (even if they have recommended the supplier and let you have a toke or two on their e-cig).

What suits them may not be right for you, and often they might have had that e-cig for months and not even realise that there are better products now available and which might well be better for you.

Just as the brand of tobacco product you preferred was your choice! How many you smoked, and how you smoked it was your individual choice, arrived at through experience, so your e-cig needs to be your choice and suit your needs too.

4.  Get your eliquid right.

Most of us experiment for a while with strengths and flavours. Finding the proper strength of ejuice can be trying, in the beginning and this is one area where expert advice will come in handy. Exhale offer advice here: Choosing Eliquid.

Some people need an liquid strength one step higher than the cigarettes that they have been smoking, but a lot will depend on the electronic cigarette you're using, and if it has 'buttons and bows", how it's adjusted.

Don't be afraid to ask for advice with e-liquids or e-cigs - That is why tip number 1 is number 1.

5. Don't get hung up on flavour.

It seems that most people starting out want or find that a tobacco flavoured eliquid works best.

This is natural choice given that they want a like for like experience and this may ease their transition, though there are those that abandon tobacco type flavours right from the off.

But, don't be afraid to try something new.

In fact, the wide choice of eliquid flavours is part of the beauty of vaping (and of the recovery of your sense of smell and taste). If you don't find something premixed that you like, you can always custom mix your own!

6. Don't expect to get it right first time - Have Fun and Play

Vaping should be enjoyable. It shouldn't and needn't be something that adds stress to your life.

Yes, when you start out, the likelihood is that you are spending a portion of your smoking funds and if you make a bad choice it could be money lost...

But it pays to take a chill-pill. To relax and allow yourself time to experiment,  to find what works best for you and provides you with the most satisfying experience.

There's an entire world of vaping options out there all available to you, so don't expect to get it perfect on your first try.

Apply tip no 1 and you will have the best chance in getting off with the best start you can, but also remember that anything worthwhile takes time to get right.

Slow down. Don't pile on too great an amount of expectation on yourself, then take it from there. In all likelihood if you have followed our tips, your first experiences have the best chance to be pretty spot on, but be willing to be flexible and to work with it.

Here at Exhale Cigarettes, we hope that you find these simple tips to be helpful to you while transitioning into the world of vaping. If we had to narrow it down to only 2 pieces of advice it would be numbers 1 and 5. Get some expert help, that you can trust and relax and have fun. Vaping or just living, day to day, those two items are pretty good advice.
