Exhale Quick Fix - Help!!! My eCig Isn't Working TROUBLESHOOTING Disable & Activate & The Centre Pin Issue

EXhale "Quick Fix" Troubleshooting: How to Disable/Activate & The Centre Pin Issue has been written with the aim of answering 2 specific and common issues and will get you on your way and back to vaping in no time.

Always read the product guide for your specific device.

Battery not working? Fault Description: Help! My Battery won't work - It's dead.

If the battery button does not appear to be working when you press it to vape it is very possible that your battery is in the Disabled/Off /Deactivated statusIf so, it will simply need to be switched On/Activated/Enabled.

What's this feature for?

It has two functions. First, it allows the user to protect the stored power from being accidentally discharged when it is being storage or during transportation so that, should anything press against the button, no power is engaged and lost. Its second function is in auto lock where, if a user has continually over-vaped the battery will lock itself into disabled mode, forcing the user to stop vaping. This is a safety feature built in to protect it from overheating. The auto lock allows it cooling time.

LET"S FIX IT!

To activate (switch on) or deactivate (off) the battery the procedure is exactly the same.

Click the battery power button 3 times within 2 seconds.

NOTE: some batteries are set to 5 clicks within 2 seconds.

The same command sequence is used to lock or unlock (off/on disable/enable) the battery

When the command sequence has been input correctly (whether switching it on or off) the battery button LED will blink for a few seconds giving you a visual confirmation it has accepted the command.

When Activated/On/Unlocked you can vape as normal. Now when it is depressed, the button will light and power will reach your clearomiser/atomiser device.

VAPING - Hold down the battery button during the entire inhale taking your finger off when you have removed the device from your mouth.

We recommend that you get into the habit of switching your battery off/locked/deactivated when you are finished vaping.

Perform the same 3 (or 5) click command sequence then wait for the blinking lights to end. The battery is now disabled and will no longer function when the button is pressed.

eCig Not Working. Fault Description: My battery light is coming on. My clearomiser will not operate on this battery but it does on another.

If this is the scenario you are experiencing it might be caused by the ‘centre pin’ contact point of the battery being stuck or wedged further down than it should be.

If this centre pin becomes stuck down and no longer 'floats' it will be prevented from making contact with the clearomiser thus, this the electrical circuit needed will have failed.

What is the Centre Pin?

The centre pin can be seen when with no atomiser attached you look down into the top of the battery/ The centre pin has a flat top which should be kept shiny and clean which should be the case if you carry out a daily cleaning of your hardware using a tissue to clean the contact points and screw threads keeping them free of residues.

The pin should 'float' having a springy/spongy up and down bounce to it when you depress it.

Centre Pin Problem

A lack of movement or a 'stuck-ness' can happen for different reasons so it is worth knowing a little about this so that once you have learned how to fix the issue, you can take preventative measures to reduce the liklihood of it reoccurring.

    • A build up of sticky residue can prevent the pin from being able to have its intended free movement and bounce. The pin may have been pushed down and is being prevented from floating, held down by a build up of 'gunk'.
    • The pin could be wedged down. This can occur when a battery is screwed too tightly to the clearomiser or in the case of some models of battery by connection too tightly to their charging lead.
    • It could be neither of these things. It may simply have happened by chance.

LET'S FIX IT!

First you need some tissue and a paperclip you must straighten to use as a tool. Now with the clearomiser/atomiser tank removed from the battery look down into the top of your battery.

If this is an eGo threaded battery it is going to be dual threaded. On the outer is the larger eGo thread and now on the inner side you can see the smaller, 510 thread.

In the centre at the bottom is the flat top of the ‘centre pin’. This should be clean and shiny.

Lets clean first. Making a twist at the corner of the tissue and use this to "poke" into the cavity of the battery to swab and mop up residues from the pin, around the pin edges and the screw threads. This may unstick the centre pin however, in this tutorial we will assume it has not.

Use the straightened paperclip to gently and carefully prise the centre pin loose around its edges. You should see it move up ward and become more free in its movement.

PREVENTION

    • Use paper towel/tissue each day and, particularly where the battery screws to a charging lead, you should do this before recharging. Twist some tissue using it as a tool to clean and clear all threads and contact points of your batteries and your clearomisers.
    • The reason that we recommend doing this before recharging to ensure that no transfer of liquid residues go from the  battery to the charging lead. This practice will ensure that all contact points remain clean and clear thus aiding charging and preventing any chance of residue contamination between battery and charging lead.
    • Never over-tighten. When attaching battery to clearomiser or charging lead finger-tight is sufficient.
